In Search Of: Electrical Engineer with a background in underwater robotics and computer science to join the Aquaai San Diego team. Good working knowledge of marine communication systems preferred.

Job Description: Join a small team charged with creating a flexible unmanned autonomous vehicle (UAV) by incorporating bio mimicry technics into its existing core design. The platform will be used for B2B operational tasks with a heavy focus on sustainable aquaculture, ports and environmental scientific research.

Assigned Mission Tasks: You will be responsible for a broad range of hardware design tasks, PCB/electrical design, integration of power management systems, recharging stations and communications IE sonar, Wi-Fi, avoidance and detection sensory systems.

Skills: B.Sc. degree or equivalent practical experience in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering with a good background in Computer Science and robotics programming languages. Minimum. 3 – 5 years experience preferably in assembly, design, prototyping and maintenance of marine UUVs. Good working and technical knowledge of sensory and Wi-Fi marine systems with knowledge in solar power and inductive charging methods.

Proficient in circuitry layout, design, PCB design, instrument development, hardware integration, electronics assembly, troubleshooting and repair. Experience with prototyping machines IE CNC, lathe, laser cuter, and 3D printing. Must be able to use basic hand tools.

Able to work offshore with a good understanding of marine environments and be willing to get wet.

Ideally: Comfortable in hi tech startup environment; Team player with ability to work independently and proactively; Apply problem solving techniques with enthusiasm; Positive interpersonal and communication skills.
