Summary:

We are now looking for a Marketing and Events Coordinator (known as Community Developer at Sullivan Solar Power). This position is for our San Diego headquarters.
Objective:
Cultivate the marketing and communication efforts of Sullivan Solar Power to promote the firm’s services and generate new business opportunities and leads.
REQUIREMENTS
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the Company’s corporate image and identity
- Utilize marketing tactics to generate new leads and business
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, government officials, media representatives, businesses and organizations and use these relationships to develop new business opportunities
- Plan seminars, parties and other events, coordinating all details
- Research and analyze community-specific demographics and statistical data
- Plan, coordinate and evaluate community programs, events, advertising and public relations efforts to draw conclusions and improve successful results
- Produce presentations, advertisements, merchandise, marketing and collateral materials
- Assist with the research of communication mediums used by Sullivan Solar Power–i.e. radio, direct mail, newspapers, door hanging, phone calls, magazines, the Internet, outdoor signs
- Speak publicly and conduct presentations to audiences of all sizes
- Meet weekly quotas and goals while staying within budget parameters
- Conduct weekly phone calls to clients and leads
- Nominate Sullivan Solar Power and company executives for awards and recognition
- Maintain company memberships and listings
- Assist with the distribution of door hangers and other marketing materials
- Assist other Sullivan Solar Power employees
- Other duties as assigned
Desired qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Advertising, Integrated Marketing Communications, Marketing or similar field
- Courses in business law, management, marketing, advertising, journalism, economics, accounting, finance, sustainability and statistics preferred
- Experience in sustainability, renewable energy, and political science
- Experience in creative and technical writing preferred
- Experience in advertising, direct marketing and sales
- Experience in event coordination, public affairs and public speaking
- Experience in the production of promotional materials
- Experience conducting thorough internet research quickly
- Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat
- Knowledge of database tools with the ability to quickly create, modify and analyze spreadsheets
- Outstanding writing skills with strong knowledge of AP Style Guidelines
- Working knowledge of email marketing and social media platforms
- Familiar with local government inner-workings and structures
- Knowledge of solar power technology basics, rebates and incentives
- Exceptional interpersonal communication abilities to establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders
- Ability to be persuasive, both orally and in writing, with media, customers, potential clients, government officials and other public figures
