NATURAL RESOURCES PROGRAM / COASTAL PROGRAMS SECTOR / HEADQUARTERS
The reporting location for this position is located at DPR Headquarters in Sacramento, CA. This position will work under the general supervision of the Coastal Program Manager (Sr. Environmental Scientist).

This position acts as the program’s regulatory compliance expert. The position supports the Coastal Program’s efforts to develop efficiencies around permitting coastal projects and assists Distict-level park managers in applying state laws, such as the Coastal Act and the California Environmental Quality Act. Additionally, the position would be responsible for coordinating with other Parks divisions and programs to ensure consistent messaging about regulations occurs within the Department. Research and development of new strategies for coastal adaptation to climate change within existing regulatory statutes will be expected as well as recommendations for improvements. This position is a mid-level hire with experience in the permitting or regulatory landscape a requirement. Some statewide travel (no more than 20% of incumbent’s time) may be required.
