About the Role:
Reporting into the VES Leader, the Calibration Systems Technician is responsible for supporting production and the calibration department through process improvement, execution of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and optimizing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of calibration systems. These systems are used to precisely calibrate equipment used to make physical oceanographic, biogeochemical and optical measurements in both deep ocean and freshwater environments.
This position is part of the Operations Team located in Bellevue, Washington and will be onsite.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
- Identify, troubleshoot and repair issues in calibration systems to minimize production down time.
- Oversee equipment maintenance tasks daily.
- Develop/Sustain Standards for preventative maintenance including checking and cleaning.
- Maintain/Present Daily Management of system performance.
- Install and validate equipment and processes in the calibration lab to improve yield and/or reduce cycle time following the established validation procedure.
- Read schematics, assembly drawings, and process sheets to perform testing/troubleshooting of equipment.
- Work cross functionally to train team members on TPM processes and standards.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- 3-5 years related experience in manufacturing or technical environments.
- Understanding of and ability to implement the TPM approach.
- Ability to work independently, prioritizing attention to detail.
- Knowledgeable in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, compressed air and lubrication systems.
- Demonstrated ability to gain buy-in.
- Familiar with high- and low-pressure plumbing systems, including compression and NPT fittings.
- Experience in cooling and heating systems
It would be an asset if you have:
- Drafting and modeling experience, SolidWorks
- Machining experience (manual lathe/mill).

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
The compensation range for this role is $35.00 – $38.00 USD per hour. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.
