Dr. Anna Wilson is a field research manager for the Center For Western Weather and Water Extremes (CW3E) at Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego.

In this webinar,  Dr. Wilson covers the mission of the Center for Western Weather and Water Extremes (CW3E) at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, the data and tools they collect and use to predict and monitor extreme precipitation from atmospheric rivers and ways they collaborate with partners.  Atmospheric rivers are filaments of concentrated water vapor transport in the atmosphere that account for approximately half of California’s annual rainfall, are crucial to the water supply in the West, and responsible for over $1 billion in flood damages annually.
